4 Months Old

Octoberfest

The girls and I drove up to Snowbird ski resort on Labor Day and went to Octoberfest. They danced to the funny German music, even did the Chicken dance, ate cotton candy, watched some juggling, and got balloon hats. It was a beautiful day and the mountains were gorgeous. It made us excited for Yellowstone. We leave tomorrow!!

Adam was showing me all the cool tools on Adobe Photoshop.

It was a hike from the parking lot to the Fest so we stopped to take some pictures.

Ashley almost fell into the pond behind her while taking this one.

A Summer Tribute

Ashley became an expert this summer at catching and raising grasshoppers. She checked out bug books at the library and did some online research. She quickly persuaded her sister and neighborhood friends to do the same. They spent hours upon hours looking for them, naming them and making bug houses for them. I think at one time I had five bug tupperware and shoe box houses on the front porch. I also attended a few funerals and consoled some tears when some of their favorites perished by way of a shoe or were smashed by the accidental two fingered death grip. She now has made catching grasshoppers a new trend at school. The kids are allowed to keep their bug houses in the classroom and take them out at recess where they show off their favorites. Our favorites were, Love, a tiny pink hued hopper, Friendship, a small white one and then there were the two big hoppers that were found clinging to one another and the girls thought they were making a family so they let them go.

LAGOON DAY

Breanne celebrated her 7th birthday earlier this month. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had at Lagoon water and amusement park. Breanne said, "This is the most fun I've had in my whole life!" Both Bree and Ashley loved the roller coasters! Breanne unfortunately was too short for one or two of them but rode every other one at the park. Ashley screamed at me on one of the scariest rides, "Mom, This is sweeet!!" I found out how scared I am of heights when I got on the Rocket. On this monster of a ride you sit on a little chair, leggs dangling and it slowly goes up up up, then pauses and all of a sudden you drop. On the way up I freaked out and wanted off. Adam was teasing me and Ashley was trying to figure out why I was yelling frantically. At the end of the night, after riding most of the rides we found a little raft ride that takes you through a pitch dark tube and you get soaking wet. Ashley, Breanne and I must have ridden it 5 times because there wasn't a line and it was a blast! The baby was extremely good the whole day and loved looking at the lights and listening to the music. Adam was our park guide because he visited the park as a kid and knew where everything was. He and I enjoyed watching the girls reactions since this is the only amusement park they've ever been too. I can't wait to take them to Disneyland.

Claire's Blessing Day

On Sunday...

(Notice cute little Breanne... being silly like usual. I keep telling her that her eyes will get stuck like that. Haha)

July 13, 2008 baby Claire was blessed by her Daddy. The blessing was beautiful and Claire looked so pretty in the dress my Mom made. We celebrated and enjoyed time with family after the blessing. Kacey did a fantastic job taking pictures!

Summer Chores

As an incentive for doing their chores, without being asked for 30 straight days, the girls were told they could choose a reward. So every morning the girls would wake up and before going downstairs they had to get dressed, do their hair, clean up their bedroom, brush teeth and make their beds. Then they had to pack their lunch for the day. Also, whenever I did their laundry they folded their clothes and put them away.

Today was day 30!! They decided they wanted a Webkin. If you are not familiar, they are a stuffed animal that comes with a code. Once you enter the code online you can play with your stuffed animal in Webkin's world.

It was so much fun to see how excited they were! I'm proud of how hard they worked and I wanted them to remember the feeling they got when they "earned" their Webkin.

You're the energetic, ambitious type.

And only NYC is fast enough for you.

Maybe you'll set yourself up with a killer career

Or simply take in all the city has to offer.

What City Do You Belong In?

I couldn't agree more... No wonder I want to go to New York City soooo bad!!

Tried to capture a hand stand. Little delayed :)

Tooth Fairy Mishap

A few weeks ago Breanne lost a tooth and put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy. Two nights later... (what a horribly busy tooth fairy) the tooth fairy came and gave her money but could not find the tooth under her pillow. Both Mr. and Mrs. tooth fairy searched in the dark as quietly as possible, but could not find it.

In the morning Breanne proudly announced that the tooth fairy finally came and flashed her money at us with a big smile. I thought, "Oh, good she didn't see that the tooth was still there. Maybe it fell under her bed." Now I am sure most of you would then spend the next day while your child is at school looking for the tooth, but this tooth fairy forgot.

So a few days later Breanne had a tooth pulled at the dentist. The dentist gave her a tiny treasure chest to keep her tooth in. She put it under her pillow that night, but again (dang tooth fairy) the tooth fairy got busy or maybe tired. The next morning Breanne approached me with a very concerned look on her face and announced in frustration, "The tooth fairy came and gave me my other tooth back!"

I acted shocked, and was thinking to myself how do I explain this one. Needless to say the tooth fairy had to redeem itself and paid very well for both teeth that very night.

Delivery Day - A Dad's Perspective

DELIVERY DAY!!

Shortly After Delivery

On April 16th 3:09pm Claire Emery Boulton came into this world kicking and screaming and finally became a new member of our family. Even though I was on the sidelines, the labor process seemed relatively quick and painless. The climax of the day happened when the Doc had to use forceps to pry little Claire out of poor Mom, mostly because her heart slowed every time there was a contraction. The nurse had to remind me a few hundred times that this wasn't so unusual, but the Dad in me couldn't help but worry, those forceps looked HUGE! However, after it was all said and done, Claire and Mommy had minimal battle wounds, and she was in our arms before I knew it.

Shortly After Delivery

It was my first "delivery room" experience and it will be something I will always remember. The whole ordeal opened up a new set of emotions I never knew I had in me. And once I was finally able to hold little Claire, the 9months of waiting seemed a very small price to pay (Mom might think differently).

Time for pictures! (Even Though They Don't Even Come Close To Doing Her Justice!)
